New Zealanders care deeply about their fisheries and marine environment.
Fisheries New Zealand works to ensure that fisheries resources are managed in a way that provides the greatest overall benefit to New Zealanders.
Working with us means that every day you'll go home knowing you've made a positive contribution to the sustainable management of New Zealand's valuable fisheries resources and their wider marine environment.
This is a brand new role and we are looking for an experienced and delivery-focused service designer for a fixed term period until 11 March 2021. Ideally you will be located in either Auckland, Wellington or Nelson, but we are open to candidates in other regions.
About the Role - Kōrero mō te tūranga
This role will contribute to a programme of work that implements the Fisher Wellbeing Strategy, primarily through the establishment and delivery of a regional support network for commercial fishers and aquaculture farmers and their whanau.
Unlike other sectors in the primary industries, commercial fishers don't currently have a support network to help them adapt, innovate and build resilience within the industry. This independent, fisher-led network will support them to navigate their business and their personal wellbeing needs through times of crisis. The industry is facing a time of significant change - which has been compounded by the effects of COVID-19.
You will have exceptional service design skills and must be passionate about the wellbeing of others. This role will be part of a small team working closely with fishers, aquaculture and industry stakeholders to design and a deliver a range of wellbeing and resilience products over the next few years.
We embrace diversity and we encourage flexible working arrangements.
