We are looking for a Charge Nurse Manager to lead the Inpatient nursing team at Wairau Hospital in Blenheim. 

The Inpatient Unit is a 45 bedded unit covering Medical, Assessment Treatment & Rehabilitation (AT&R) and Surgical services with both acute and elective patient admissions.  A wide range of surgical services access the inpatient unit including: General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology and Gynaecology. Medical physicians work onsite to deliver acute care and rehabilitation to patients accessing care.

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)

You will be experienced in leading and managing a contemporary nursing team, with the ability to run a multi-disciplinary ward environment. You will have an enthusiasm for quality and change management, to maintain and improve patient outcomes, with an ever evolving model of care. 

You will have a minimum of 5 years recent Registered Nursing experience at a senior level, with relevant PDRP portfolio, and will have demonstrated your ability to work in a collaborative manner with proven change management skills. 

You will also have:

  • excellent communication skills
  • knowledge and experience of Patient Flow initiatives 
  • a Post Graduate Diploma
  • a Masters of Nursing, or working towards completion (advantageous).
