Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)
As a Health Care Assistant you will be part of our dedicated nursing environment with full support. Your role is to work within the team to assist nursing staff in non-direct and direct patient care under the supervision and delegation of a registered nurse.
Please note that there are no fixed hours associated with casual employment as you will be working on an as required basis to help meet service needs.

We are looking for people with a mature outlook, the ability to get on with a wide variety of ages and who have excellent communication skills. They will also have the ability to work in a flexible and methodical manner, demonstrate honesty and reliability, and use appropriate initiative. Experience within the health sector is preferred, but is not essential as full training will be provided.
It will be important that you have the flexibility to work across all shifts, sometimes at short notice.
- Year 11 NCEA level 1 English (or equivalent)
- Year 11 NCEA level 1 Maths (or equivalent)
- NZQA level 3 qualification (or equivalent)*
- Home Carer Certificate (or equivalent)
*NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Health Assistance Strand, if not previously obtained, is to be commenced once orientations have been attended.
