The Service Delivery and Operations branch is the face of DIA. Whether we’re helping to register births, deaths or marriages, or assisting in passport applications, community grants or civil union and name change registrations, we’re dedicated to serving the needs of all New Zealanders.
We are seeking a Manager Community Advisory Services to lead the delivery of community advisory services in the southern region of our Hāpai Hapori / Community Operations group. This is a key leadership role in the community and voluntary sector in the southern region, with the ability to directly influence the success of the local communities.
You will be someone who relishes the opportunity to lead and influence within your community. Leading a team of dedicated Community Advisors, you will be responsible for the effective distribution of grants across community groups, hapū and iwi in our southern region. The offices you’d be responsible for are Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill and Greymouth.
Leading a diverse team, who are committed to making a difference for New Zealanders, you will draw on your significant people leadership experience and past success operating in the community and voluntary sector.
You will bring a depth of experience that allows you to lead your team as they work with the myriad of community groups, stakeholders, hapū and iwi engaged in the southern region community sector.
Leadership responsibilities include:
- Building a work environment that successfully enables and supports communities, community groups, hapū and iwi to achieve their aspirations
- Connecting with other leaders across the sector including central and local government and the community sector, to grow resilient communities
- Building and maintaining a high performing and engaged team that develops and promotes innovative ideas within the local community
- Developing a culture that inspires confidence and trust between the community sector and the Department
- Ensuring the Department’s Te Aka Taiwhenua Strategy is embedded within the team and supports Tiriti based practice
Along with your skills and experience from the community/social services sector you will bring strong influencing and engagement skills to the team and wider community.
