ProCare have vacancies for Cultural Engagement Nurses to act as key resources for allocated ProCare general practices, to assist with the mapping and development of clinical capabilities to meet practice aspirations.

The role involves supporting practice teams to improve cultural awareness and patient engagement, particularly with Māori populations, to achieve outcomes related to the Population Health Strategy.  

The Māori Cultural Engagement Nurse will provide consistent high levels of customer service and focus on delivering a high value experience. We are looking for someone with knowledge of Maori culture, be conversant in te reo Māori with a knowledge of tikanga Māori along with a good understanding of both written and spoken English.

The ideal candidate will be a New Zealand Registered Nurse and have at least 5 years' post graduate experience preferably in a primary healthcare setting or general practice. A current annual practicing certificate (NZNC) is essential.

In addition to the above, the candidate will be friendly, positive, have excellent time management and organisational skills, and is able to multi task and learn quickly. Being a team player is a must. All applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
