Huia (NZ) Ltd has a vision to deliver leading edge education and commercial content and ensure Māori stories and perspectives have a place in New Zealand and throughout the world.

We now have a position available and are seeking new talent to ensure our vision continues to be achieved.

Kaihoahoa Whakairoiro (Graphic Designer) 12 months fixed term

We’re looking for a new addition to the award winning in-house HUIA production and design team based in Wellington, Aotearoa.  We have a lot of work in the pipeline.

You will already have a few years’ experience in the creative industry. You will be someone who can handle a whole lot of variety with ease. You’ll be across all aspects of the business, heavily involved in print design, digital development, branding and communications, and illustration.

Reporting to the Design Manager, you’ll be working directly with clients and coordinating the collaboration of multiple projects between external suppliers and internal stakeholders at at any one time, to deliver projects on time and to specification.

Helping to bring our creative visions to life, HUIA is offering you a chance to get into the nitty-gritty of the creative media industry. This opportunity exists for an absolute gun at design, a go-getter who is super organised and can hit the ground running. We rate a keen heart for high-quality finishes and experience at delivering quality work within  tight timeframes.

Extra points if you have experience working on projects with a kaupapa Māori focus. If you have a nose for typography, presenting solid ideas and polished typesetting, and like contributing to a variety of projects, this could be the place to flourish.

Bonus skills such as illustration, front-end digital development and/or video-editing experience would be an advantage but are not essential.
