The Rotorua Market and Events Team seeks self-motivated and enthusiastic applicants for the position of Market Operations and Events Lead. This role, which reports to the Market Manager, will oversee the operational running of the Rotorua Night Market, the Rotorua Farmers Market and be involved in running events and activations in Rotorua. The role will be up to 30 hours per week, and will include some late nights and weekends.
Your responsibilities will include co-ordinating the market set-up and break-down, overseeing the stallholders, ensuring all compliance requirements are adhered to, being the first point of contact on-site and being the ears and eyes of the markets.
We are looking for someone who manages well under pressure, possesses good communication skills, has an eye for detail and has good people and negotiation skills. Inventory management and a good understanding of health and safety responsibilities are also important to this role.
You must have a current New Zealand Driver Licence. Ideally you will also have Traffic Controller and STMS qualifications (or be willing to train towards this), health and safety experience or qualifications, and a current first aid certificate. A component of this role involves heavy lifting and requires a good level of physical fitness. Short-listed applicants will be police vetted and required to undergo a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
