Aukaha is an environmental consultancy involved in a wide range of private development and local government work programmes across the wider Otago region. We are involved in innovative and exciting work and need the added support of two Principal/Senior Planners – one specialising in Freshwater.

Aukaha is owned by five Rūnaka from across the Otago region. We offer a range of planning, environmental and cultural advisory services to councils, Crown agencies and private clients as well as environmental advisory and support services to our Rūnaka owners.

Are you interested in influencing decisions which affect the quality of our waterways? Do you have the technical and communication skills to effectively shape and influence water policy development?

Would you enjoy leading a supportive team that provides planning and policy advice to Kāi Tahu Rūnaka to support their kaitiaki responsibilities for waterways in their takiwā?

Aukaha is expanding its freshwater work programme to meet the demands of the NPS freshwater and regional policy development. The takiwā of our Rūnaka owners extends across Southland, Otago and Canterbury so we are seeking a leader who can oversee a complex and wide-ranging programme of work across multiple regional councils. You would also be facilitating our Rūnaka response to deemed permit renewals. This role requires leading a small team to provide technical policy advice to Rūnaka as they work in partnership with councils and alongside other stakeholders.
