Our work touches the lives of all New Zealanders. As well as delivering on our core mandate to ensure a sound and efficient financial system, we are deepening our understanding of the changing world around us, and our interactions with it, by focusing on where our work intersects with climate change and financial inclusion, and other areas where we can have an impact.
We operate in a complex and changing global landscape but are acutely conscious of our heritage and history. Our Te Ao Māori strategy and awareness is a critical lens across all our work and this new position has been created to lead us on our journey.
As our new Kaiarahi Māori you will play a significant role in developing and implementing the Bank's Te Reo Māori and Tīkanga strategies, programme and projects. You'll be the key cultural attaché for the Bank's Senior Leadership team, accompanying our employees to events and outreach and will broaden engagement with key external stakeholders and enhance the Bank's mana.
With strong coordination, planning and delivery skills you will enjoy the variety in this role organising and facilitating the Bank's pōwhiri, whakatau, wānanga, hui and other engagements to help build Bank staff's cultural understanding and capability.
You will thrive in a role where your strong cultural knowledge, ability to develop and maintain relationships, superior communication skills, obvious enthusiasm and hands on approach to facilitate growth will see an uplift in capability and engagement throughout our organisation and beyond.
Specific questions about the role can be made to Ngarangi Haerewa on 04 471 3714.
All applications are to be submitted online by Sunday, 25 August 2019.
