A fixed term/secondment advisor position has arisen within the Operational Policy and Business Improvement team. The role entails drafting operational policy, investigating and implementing business improvement initiatives, providing Secretariat services to a number of decision making bodies as well as drafting official correspondence for our Ministers and the wider business group.

This position involves close liaison with 16 regional offices throughout New Zealand and across the Department of Internal Affairs. In addition there are key external relationships with Minister’s offices, National Community Organisation Grants Scheme Committee, the Lottery Grants Board, other Government departments as well as a range of not-for-profit organisations.

Applicants must have excellent writing and presenting skills and be currently available to work within New Zealand. Prior experience of community granting processes, Ministerial advice, working in an operational policy environment or working with community organisations would be an advantage.
