In undertaking this role, our new RDA-Māori will actively equip researchers with techniques and tools to build strong sustained relationship with Māori and to capably reflect Māori interests in research proposals. They will be a proactive, savvy and well-organised individual, who can identify and develop mutual benefit and value from opportunities with hapū, iwi, Māori businesses or organisations, build confidence and skills in others, and flourish in a team environment. They will also be an excellent and trusted communicator, listener and observer, and possess a high level of integrity and resilience.

While the successful incumbent could be based elsewhere, they would need to be physically present on our Palmerston North campus at least half of their working time. We are open to part-time or full-time arrangements. We also offer challenge and opportunity in good measure along with flexible work hours, a great campus environment, and the opportunity to join an expert Advisory team who help bring great research to life to make a difference for all New Zealanders.

If that appeals and you hold a post graduate research degree or equivalent experience; have prior success in formulating and/or writing research grant proposals or contestable tenders, and appropriate knowledge and cultural fluency to support Māori knowledge development through research, we want to hear from you.
