Mātauraka Mahaanui are an advisory board to the Ministry of Education, Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga. We are offering an exciting and innovative appointment in support of Māori education success as Māori.
Learning is a life-long journey from pēpi to kaumātua, and this role offers a unique opportunity to provide support to papatipu rūnanga, Mātāwaka as well as Mātauranga Ngāi Tahu, promoting access and success in education for all Māori learners in support of their learning journeys.
This role requires building relationships with schools/kura, Boards of Trustees and Early Childhood centres, to create a partnership to provide for enhanced Māori learner outcomes. The ability to provide comprehensive research and advice to support programme delivery along with fostering effective relationships to promote the interests and aspirations of Ngāi Tahu learners and for all Māori learners who reside within the Ngāi Tahu takiwā are essential prerequisites.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong desire to work for an iwi organisation and as such some knowledge of Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori are necessary to discharge the function of this role.
