This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced advisor with strong coordination skills to sit at the heart of our organisation and support the Kaiwhakahaere. It is a unique and influential role, reporting directly to the CEO, that will become a key connector internally between staff and senior leaders at our highly reputable, thriving iwi organisation.
Day-to-day, you will coordinate and streamline advice being provided to the Kaiwhakahaere from various internal stakeholders including our strategy, environmental and communications teams. This requires the ability to collaborate and communicate with ease, at all levels within the organisation and externally, and to be able to identify issues, risks and opportunities.
You will need to be able to build strong, trusted relationships including with the Kaiwhakahaere and other senior leaders. You will need to be confident advising and briefing senior leaders directly, be able to work with highly confidential material, and have experience coordinating logistics for travel and events. Knowledge of the iwi or experience working in a Māori organisation or political environment would be hugely advantageous.
We are looking for a talented and driven individual with:
- A relevant tertiary qualification.
- Experience advising senior leaders directly.
- Project management or coordination experience in a busy workplace.
- The ability to think strategically and balance competing priorities within tight timeframes.
- Proven collaboration and relationship building skills and experience.
- A strong affinity with Ngāi Tahu values and aspirations.
