Head of Intersector and Special Projects

Hawkes Bay District Health Board

Closing Date : 10 Jul 2019

If you've ever dreamed about what could be accomplished if organisations strategically worked together to solve issues, now here's your chance to find out - and make it happen.

This is a significant, senior strategic role where you'll have the opportunity to have a positive impact on thousands of people. Hawke's Bay District Health Board's service network looks after more than 165,000 people, and we're focused on addressing inequities in healthcare. We've set high expectations for ourselves, and with fresh modelling and new roles we're determined to deliver.

One of those new roles is yours. As Head of Intersector and Special Projects, you'll develop and implement viable strategies for engaging allied sectors to contribute to our people's health outcomes. This would involve joining forces with organisations and departments that are involved in social determinants of health, such as housing, education and economic development, and working closely with community services to better meet practical needs. With your team, you'll also develop new health services for the community to make healthcare more accessible.

If you're already thinking of creative approaches to equity in healthcare, then you're just the person we want to talk to if you've got strong skills and expertise in engaging with a variety of sectors. Whether you're looking to step your career up, or bring your considerable expertise to new challenges, you'll also be used to running programmes and working outside normal systems and processes to get results.

You could be joining us from another region or an urban area, and you'll certainly find a good life in Hawke's Bay, if you like sunshine, the outdoors, stunning scenery, and a great lifestyle?

This is a role where you'll really see the tangible results of your work. Hawke's Bay is a region that makes our lofty goals achievable - the population's big enough to give scale to the initiatives, but small enough to allow for penetration. It's also a region with a number of communities who really need our support, and HBDHB is absolutely determined to enhance the lives of the people we serve.

That determination is something we're rapidly becoming known for in the health sector, and your strategic direction will directly help to get the engagement we need to break down the barriers to health equality.

Are you ready to take on the challenge and make amazing things happen? We are.
