This position will play a leading role in engaging with communities to forge new partnerships.

We are looking for a leader who can navigate between practice leadership and team management.  You will be able to translate strategic intent, community values and data sources into regionally specific tactical approaches that are culturally appropriate.  You will have a good understanding of the multiple realities of all communities and be well versed in the breadth of modern challenges that can impact on civic engagement. 

We are looking for someone that can breathe new life into the art of engaging communities in all things data.

As a key member of the Stats NZ Community Engagement Team, you will provide specialist experience, networks and professional understanding of communities throughout Aotearoa.  Importantly, you will be a specialist in Maori engagement.  Pivotal to the success of the role is your ability to understand the Stats NZ Community Engagement operational approach and ensure national consistency in a regionally dispersed team.

This role is permanent, requires the facility to be able to work remotely, and will involve regular travel.
