Chief Executive Officer
Closing Date : 10 May 2019
- Champion the voice of the young and care experienced
- National service offering, strong partnership focus
- Start up/Scale up leadership experience essential
At VOYCE we believe children and young people in care need to be heard and their voices kept at the centre of the decisions made about them. Our name embodies our intent, which is to provide an independent voice from children and young people to the care system, rather than an adult voice for them.
We were created alongside Oranga Tamariki as an independent advocacy and support service. We work closely with a wide range of stakeholders across government, community and other advocacy groups and proactive engagement with these stakeholder groups will be essential to our success.
Our new CEO will be a passionate advocate for the voice of children, child-centred design and for improving the experience of all children in care. You will have proven general management experience, ideally in a start up, scale up or transforming organisation. You will be able to develop and execute strategic plans, quickly deliver new services, whilst working with and through our partners, communities and, most important, the children whose voices you will be advocating for. Comfortable being the ‘front-face’ of the organisation you will be a strong advocate for VOYCE. Your background will include youth or social services, and commitment in particular to working with Māori communities will be self-evident.
This is a national role based in Auckland.
