Be accountable for the national social work programme for a renowned New Zealand education provider - a ground breaker in its field.

Based in the head office located in Te Awamutu (20 minutes from Hamilton), a Kairuruku -Programme Manager, is sought to join a well-established and highly passionate team.  The position involves, providing ongoing needs-based support for Kaiako and a broad range of stakeholders, to ensure programme compliance and accreditation, as well as teaching the curriculum as required.

This position involves working alongside the Certificate level managers but is solely responsible for the 4 year degree.

A unique combination of strategic programme development alongside operational teaching as and when needed, this position will attract those who have worked on the frontline of social work or teaching and be looking to educate the next generation and prepare them for a career in the sector.

Skills, competencies and experience required are to include; 

  • The proven experience working in the social work field in New Zealand.
  • Te Reo Māori me ona tikanga.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, Masters Level preferable.
  • Teaching or experience within the NZ education sector.
  • An understanding of the NZ Qualifications framework.
  • Experience working within kaupapa Māori and Pasifika concepts.
  • A demonstration of working, engaging and building strong community and stakeholder partnerships.
  • Demonstratingexperience in the delivery of training sessions to internal stakeholder
  • Have past skills in auditing or compliance management.
  • Be technically savvy - intermediate or above knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • Proven management and people leadership skills.
  • Sound understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its applications within education.
  • Skills in working to operational targets.
  • A high standard of oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
