Enhanced School Based Health Services within Secondary Schools
Full Time, Fixed Term One Year Contract
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has become available for a Nurse Educator to provide nursing expertise and leadership across funded secondary schools and alternative education settings within the Waitemata DHB School Based Health Services (SBHS). This role is a fixed term, one-year contract.
We seek an experienced senior registered nurse with a minimum of five years experience in youth health nursing and a current practicing certificate. The successful candidate will have the ability to provide clinical leadership, support, supervision and to develop the clinical competency of nurses working within funded School Based Health Services across the WDHB Geographic area.
In this role, you will provide professional development and individual supervision for the school nursing team and work closely with the SBHS Programme Manager and Clinical Director to review and report on practice and processes within the SBHS.The role requires experience in primary health care/community-based health services and a passion for improving the health outcomes for young people.
The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate diploma in youth health and either have completed or be working towards a relevant masters degree. Experience and knowledge in immunising would be an advantage.
You will be an enthusiastic, friendly individual who can get along with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds and be dedicated to contributing to a brighter future for young people in our schools. Great communication skills are essential, both spoken and written, as well as a high level of computer literacy (including Medtech and Microsoft Office).
This role sits within the Youth Health Hub, HealthWEST and is based in West Auckland.
