New Zealand Qualifications Authority
Closing Date : 10 Jan 2019
NZQA's role in the education sector is to ensure that New Zealand qualifications are regarded as credible and robust, nationally and internationally, in order to help learners, succeed in their chosen endeavours and to contribute to New Zealand society. The Quality Assurance Division is responsible for the quality assurance of the non-university tertiary education sector. A key function is maintaining the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF), including the quality assurance of standards, qualifications and accreditation and moderation requirements.
What we need
The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) requires a pool of suitably trained and competent evaluators to participate in External Evaluations and Reviews (EERs) of non-university Tertiary Education Organisations (TEOs). Evaluators are required to work closely as a team to reach statements of confidence regarding an organisation’s educational performance and capability in self-assessment.
Evaluators will be trained in the process of external evaluation and review, including the use of various tools and techniques that have been specifically designed for the purpose.
It is intended that appointment to the pool would be for a three-year term.
What’s important to us
We are looking for suitable qualified and experienced people to be part of a panel of External Evaluators. You must be able to travel and stay away for up to 5 nights at a time. Ideally you will have a four year Post Graduate Qualification and/or a qualification in Evaluation. However, we will consider a Bachelor’s three year degree and a post graduate qualification beyond the Bachelor’s three year degree and experience in Evaluation.
Why should you bid?
This is a unique opportunity to be part of the quality assurance of the New Zealand education system. You will make a difference to what our tertiary students learn.
