Manaaki Ora Trust is a kaupapa Māori organisation that has grown from the aspirations of Te Arawa to ensureMāori are healthy, live well and are able to access the services and support they need. It is a leading serviceprovider utilising kaupapa Māori approaches for the wellbeing of all people. They are now seeking a suitably qualified person to lead Te Utuhina, a kaupapa Māori clinical alcohol and other drug service, forward into the next phase of development.

The overarching objectives of this key leadership role is whai ora; to seek wellbeing for individuals and whānau living with life stressors, addictions and mental health throughout our community. The kaupapa Māori approach strives for cultural and clinical excellence within all aspects of operational and service delivery.

As a member of the Manaaki Ora Executive Team, the Group Manager is responsible for leading Te UtuhinaGroup’s service delivery, staffing and development. With a focus on planning, leadership and integration.

Reporting to the CEO, key areas of focus for this role include:

•  Strategic Executive Leadership

   ➢ Pae Ora; growth and future focus

   ➢ To be a sustainable organisation

   ➢ To be innovative and learning 

•  Operational Management

   ➢ Operational management of the Te Utuhina Group which is a kaupapa Māori clinical alcohol and other drug service that delivers to all people within the service area

•  Accountability & Performance

   ➢ Delivery of a kaupapa Māori services that achieves measureable outcomes for whānau and whaiora

   ➢ Demonstrates cultural and clinical excellence across the organisation

   ➢ Risk management

   ➢ Contract compliance

As a proven leader, you will have applicable NZ tertiary qualifications along with proven experience in delivering kaupapa Māori services. With at least 5 years’ experience working at a senior level and a background within the addictions and mental health sector. You will have an in-depth knowledge and skills in Te Ao Māori.

You will also be passionate about your community. Your enthusiasm and positivity will allow you to be an effective advocate for the Trust and able you to develop strong networks and represent the Trust in a relevant and authoritative manner. A key requirement is an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the communities the Trust serves. This includes a knowledge of their needs to ensure their rights to equitable and self-determined healthcare are maintained and enhanced.
