We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled person who is passionate about celebrating and improving Māori, Pacific and Child health.

Regional Public Health is seeking someone who strives to make a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of communities within the Greater Wellington region. This will be achieved through creating supportive environments that make the healthy choice the easy choice.

Addressing and reducing the health inequities that exist in our current environment is a priority for Regional Public Health, so the successful applicant will need to have a clear understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and the social determinants of health. We want to be leaders in creating healthy communities and we are looking for someone to join us on this journey. Your initial area of influence will be in the nutrition.

This role requires you to have a nutrition and/or public health qualification. You will have experience with delivering and/or co-ordinating nutrition programmes. We work at varying levels with a wide range of stakeholders, across our region, so an ability to develop and maintain relationships is paramount.

To be successful in this role you will be skilled at developing effective relationships with a variety of diverse communities. You will be team orientated with a can do attitude, you will be delivery driven, have a high level of computer literacy and excellent communication skills. A key aspect of the Public Health Advisor role is using health promotion approaches within a range of settings. 

Improving the health and wellbeing of Māori, Pacific whanau and communities are key priorities for Regional Public Health. If you have experience working with these communities we want to hear from you.

This is a fixed term (6 months) part time role that will start in January 2019.  New graduates are encouraged to apply.  Please note, you must have permanent residency or a valid long term working visa to be considered for this position.
