This fast paced Napier based NGO provides kaupapa māori driven birth to death health and social services. Having recently gone through a period of transformational change, with their team they have reset the vision, reviewed their practices and identified the values by which they serve their community. It is an exciting time to join.
He tangata he tangata he tangata. This job will have you responsible for day to day contract management, quality improvement, team and contractual performance, reporting and stakeholder relationships. But most importantly, it is about people. The impact of your team and the services it delivers has a profound impact on whānau in the community. Whilst you will be passionate about rangitahi and will predominantly manage the youth portfolio, you will be versatile enough to step in and out of other portfolios; working where the need is greatest. After many years of service the incumbent is relocating out of the region and leaves behind a small passionate and committed team of clinical and non clinical health practitioners and support workers for you to lead and coach.
Whilst you will be a leader with experience managing, mentoring and motivating a team of people, you will be a hands on team player. Your versatility will mean you won’t be afraid to roll your sleeves up and work in the community alongside your team and across the organisation. Your confidence will allow you to hold people accountable and manage stakeholders. Ideally you will have a background in social work with experience working within or alongside NGO, government, social service and community agencies. Through this work you will have demonstrated a commitment to working with iwi, whānau, hapu and marae and be familiar with Health & Disability Commissioner, Ministry of Social Development and Oranga Tamariki standards. Computer savvy, you’ll have strong record keeping and reporting skills. Medtech experience is an advantage. You will hold a full drivers license.
