This is an incredible opportunity for you to be involved in a hugely positive programme that encourages, promotes and supports more Māori into working in the health sector.  Kia Ora Hauora is a nationwide programme and this role will see you join a highly motivated team based at the Wairarapa District Health Board within the Māori Health Directorate.

The primary function of the role is to provide administrative support to the Regional Coordinator and to connect with all those enrolled on the Kia Ora Hauora Programme.

You will work across the Central Region which covers the lower North Island, working with mostly young taiohi and rangatahi as they consider a career in health starting from Secondary School aged, through to tertiary and connecting them into the health workforce.

We are looking for an energetic, highly-organised and self-motivated person to provide administration assistance to our Regional Coordinator for the Kia Ora Hauora Programme.  You will be youth focussed, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have a strong grasp of IT versatility and applications and be proficient in social media tools and able to effectively relate and connect with our key client base.

The successful applicant will have very strong administration skills and the necessary skills to support the strategic activities of the programme.  Applicants must have had relevant work experience and preference may be given to applicants who have a background in health industry environments and who have previously worked in a kaupapa Māori setting.

This is a Masterton based fixed term full time role, working 80 hours per fortnight for a period of 2 ½ years.  This role covers the hours between 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and the actual hours will be mutually agreed with the successful applicant.

Applicants should have attained level 2 of the NCEA, and they must be in possession of a current full clean NZ driver’s license and have conversational skill in Te Reo.  Knowledge of Te Reo Māori me ona tikanga is highly desirable.
