Survey Interviewers – Te Kupenga (Māori Social Survey)

Do you enjoy talking and interacting with people from all “walks of life”? Are you flexible and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done?
We are looking for Field Interviewers to help us collect information regarding the social, economic and cultural position of our respondents. You will interview respondents kanohi ki kanohi/face to face from a diverse array of people who self-identified (in Census) as either ethnic Māori or descendants of Māori. You’ll be given all the tools you need to succeed, great training and on-going support.
This is a temporary role in which hours will vary, including both evening and weekend work. You must be available and willing to work one weekend day, per week.
Our work and environment is based around excellent customer service. This means that you need to be:
- A good communicator
- Able to manage your time well
- An excellent listener
- Flexible with working hours
- Well organised and approachable
- Calm under pressure
- Fluency in Te Reo Māori is beneficial but not essential
The successful applicant will:
- Be confident with using smart devices such as tablet, smart phone etc
- Have a current clean New Zealand full driver’s license
- Own a reliable vehicle (must have a valid WOF and registration for the duration of the contract)
- Have access to a broadband internet connection at home
- Have a clean Ministry of Justice background
You will need to be available for three days training in May, with the assignment starting in June. You will be paid completing and attending training, and any mileage costs you incur.
