The purpose of your position

As a Timetabling Scheduler, your goal is to create efficient and well organised schedules for Unitec's programmes, courses and student classes. You'll ensure our teaching spaces are utilised effectively by thinking about space optimization, resource management and ensuring that student's travel time between their classes is manageable.

You'll be communicating regularly with our Academic Leaders and negotiating plans and solutions to often complex scheduling problems, especially during periods of peak facilities usage.  Your approach to continuous improvement will feed through to the key deliverables in your role. You will be seeking solutions to improve scheduling tasks at Unitec through data analysis and will be actively engaged in providing feedback on systems and processes.  

Your experience

You are someone who has outstanding computer and organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail. You thrive in an environment that utilises your analytical skills and ability to think calmly on your feet. In this position you'll be thrown a number of curve balls where you need to re-organise schedules that impact a multitude of customers. Ideally you'll have timetabling experience from within the tertiary sector. You'll need to find a solution whilst keeping open communication with all stakeholders. You are someone who likes to find new ways of doing things, you're resourceful, customer service focused and enterprising.
