The Kaiarahi a rohe – Rohe Coordinator is critical as the key support to whanau on a daily basis providing direct engagement to advance the kaupapa. The Rohe Coordinator will adopt a regional approach to plan, support, deliver and manage training needs and professional development. This role will report to the Kaitohu-a Rohe.  

The Kaiarahi a rohe – District Coordinator is a contributing member of the front line team providing systematic and operational assistance to Kohanga Reo whanau and the overall kaupapa.  This role is designed to lift the quality of service delivery as well as proactively contributing to new opportunities and development to grow the movement through increased participation; at all levels.

The general day-to-day tasks should focus on working with the Kaiako to raise learning outcomes through curriculum delivery, teaching and learning, supporting planning and development of the programme quality, delivery and assessment tools.  Specialist skills are required to impart the principles and guidelines of Te Korowai and Te Whariki to enhance and sustain the kaupapa of Te Kohanga Reo for mokopuna.

A key function of this position is having a good command of local environment, knowledge and settings; including working with hapu and iwi where required, and co-ordinating locally to promote the kaupapa of Te Kohanga Reo through communication and stakeholder engagement.
