HealthWEST Te Puna Manawa is a long-standing organisation, based in Lincoln Rd, Henderson. As a not for profit charitable trust, we are committed to providing quality health, social and community support services to our community across the Waitemata and Auckland District Health Board regions.

In addition, given a strong focus on service delivery to young people are you are committed to supporting youth development and engaging with young people in a youth friendly manner?
We are looking for a Clinical Director, to be based in Lincoln Rd, Henderson to provide clinical leadership across all HealthWEST services. These include:
Youth Health Hub services - comprising Primary Youth Health Clinics, Primary Mental Health - Choices to Wellbeing Programme and Enhanced School Based Health Services in 6 Secondary Schools and several Alternative Education sites and kura.
From time to time you may also be asked to provide clinical oversight of:
Outreach Immunisation services (across Waitemata & Auckland DHB region)
Retinal Screening (Enrolled Nurse component only)
This role requires experience the Clinical Director to:
Lead and facilitate effective clinical leadership, best practice and clinical effectiveness to support clinical service performance and governance
Ensure the provision of safe and effective clinical care, in a culturally appropriate manner for all HealthWEST patients/clients, including in a youth friendly manner for young people, with a particular focus on reduction of inequalities for Maori, Pacific and other high needs young people
Undertake some clinical hours
Accountable for the performance of clinical management systems, including monitoring clinical policies, protocols and compliance with relevant standards
Oversee clinical audits/continuing quality and clinical risk management
Contribute to strategic development & planning and participate in the development of new models of practice
Provide advice to the HealthWEST Chief Executive and Clinical Governance Committee and Board on relevant performance frameworks, targets and KPIs
Work in partnership with other stakeholders to develop the capacity and capability of community based primary health care
This role requires:
Vocational registration to practice as a GP in NZ, Fellow of the Royal NZ College of GPs
or Nurse Practitioner is preferred, although an experienced senior youth health practitioner may be considered.
A minimum of five years experience in the primary health sector with a strong interest in the Mental Health, Youth Health/Development sectors.
This is a part time position up to 0.6 FTE (hours negotiable).
