Counties Manukau Health

Counties Manukau Health is on the path of strategic change to integrate our systems and people. We believe “Together, we will provide excellent services that are well-supported to treat those that need us safely, with compassion and in a timely matter”!

Come be part of this change as we are currently hiring for a Clinical Psychologist for a fixed term role from (1.0 FTE). Faleola Services is our Pacific Community Mental Health service. We serve a large population of Pacific people from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Known as Faleola, this community based Adult Mental Health Service in Otahuhu has expertise in the areas of culturally appropriate psychiatric assessments, mental health promotion and effective communication with Pacific service users and their families.

As a registered Clinical Psychologist in our team you will work within our holistic model of care. The model of service delivery will allow you to work autonomously whilst also having the support of your colleagues when necessary.

Whilst having the flexibility of not carrying your own case load you will be on hand to offer clinical advice to your wider team, and provide robust mental health assessments and psychological interventions with Pacific people and their families.

Your strong commitment to recovery and cultural capability skills will allow you to navigate through the challenges that you may face whilst working with our service users, including complex mental illness, reluctance to engage and socio economic issues.

Ideally you will hold a Doctoral Degree or Masters plus a Diploma of Clinical Psychology or equivalent and either hold/or be eligible for registration as Clinical Psychologist with the NZ Psychologists Board.
