KAIAKO POSITIONS AVAILABLE
Te Kōhanga Reo o Ngā Kuaka are seeking passionate and experienced individuals to join our kāhui kaimahi as kaiako for our tamariki mokopuna.
The Kaiako positions will be responsible for ensuring the needs of whānau and tamariki are being met at all times whilst maintaining the values and principles of Te Kaupapa o Te Kōhanga Reo. You will also be responsible for contributing to effective planning using Te Whatu Pōkeka, assessing and evaluating the programme and activities and producing quality assessments of learning.
To be successful in this role, you need to be confident in speaking and writing in te reo Māori, have previous experience within early childhood education including kōhanga reo. An Early Childhood qualification and either provisional or full teacher registration is preferred but will consider non-trained or those in training. A current First Aid Cert and full clean driver’s licence is an advantage.
Key attributes sought include a high level of understanding of Te Whāriki – Early Childhood Curriculum, confidence with Te Whatu Pōkeka – Kaupapa Māori Assessment for Learning and being a good communicator with good leadership skills.
