He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role
We are seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to work for a temporary 3-month assignment. This role is crucial in supporting the team by providing expert advice and support on a range of employee relations matters and requires an adept individual, capable of navigating complex HR issues effectively. You will join a small team of 5 HR Practitioners.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience Required:
- Relevant qualification in HR and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a HR generalist role.
- Thorough knowledge of Employment and Industrial Relations legislation in New Zealand.
- Proven experience in conducting internal investigations.
- Ability to provide sound advice to Managers within the organisation on workplace relations issues, including employee complaints, grievances, and conflicts, ensuring they are equipped to take a more pro-active and preventative approach to employee matters.
- Experienced working alongside unions.
- Skilled in advising managers on performance development and improvement plans.
- Expertise in handling performance issues, including disciplinary actions.
- Strong grasp of HR policies and procedural advice.
Ngā āheinga | Competencies:
- Strong in employee relations, ethical practice, cultural awareness, and valuing diversity.
- Confident decision-maker and providing an informed approach.
- Committed to applying the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Knowledge of te reo me ōna tikanga Māori would be advantageous.
Requirements:
- Must have New Zealand Residency.
- Full, clean New Zealand driver's license.
- Clean police record.
