About the role
We are looking for an IT Lecturer that is also research active to inspire the next
generation of IT professionals. The role will see you deliver courses on the Bachelor
of Business and Information Management (BBIM) and the Graduate Diploma
programme.
The role will be based at our City campus, on Queen Street.
Depending on the right candidate’s availability, the agreement could be part or full
time. The teaching takes place Monday to Friday. This role reports to the Head of
School and will see you work closely with other Lecturers in the programmes.

The role

  • Planning, designing and delivering courses using effective and engaging
    teaching methods and materials appropriate to the students and course
    content and aligned with the NZSE Teaching and Learning Plan
  • Ensuring all assessments, including tests are completed as per the
    requirements of the course including marking, feedback, moderation,
    reassessment and rescheduling within required timeframes
  • Industry stakeholder engagement, organizing guest speakers and internships
  • Working and collaborating with the wider BBIM team to conduct research and
    publish relevant journal articles
  • Face-to-face and sometimes online delivery
  • Supporting NZSE College Te Ao Māori initiatives, embedding the NZSEG
    Māori strategy

Your background / Must Haves

  • Knowledge and passion for academia
  • PhD or Master's degree in Business, IT or similar
  • Experience in tutoring or lecturing IT or similar in NZ
  • Understanding of Te Ao Māori and tiakanga, ability to speak some Te Reo
    Māori
  • An understanding of Mātauranga Māori concepts and principles
  • Must be Research active - have recently published or in the process of
    publishing. Paid research time will be offered for approved research plans.
